Snowboard championship for the Cup of Bansko
The snowboard championship in the Big Air discipline is valid also for the Bulgarian Cup and the Cup “Hopes” and is for participants of all age groups.

A traditional Kukeri carnival "Happy New Year", including a festive folk concert and a traditional carnival of mummers
 
Razlog – 01.01.2013
For the 107th year in turn Razlog will welcome the first day of the New Year with mummers’ games and sourvakars (children going from house to house wishing people a Happy New Year). At 10:30 a.m. sharp on the Preobrazhenie square in the mountain town of Razlog the mass festivities will begin with a parade of mummers (Kukeri) groups from the seven districts of Razlog.
 
Petrich - 01.01.2013
Stanchinari is the name given to the mummers in Petrich and the surrounding region. Their Kukeri games are organized every year on the 1st of January. The number of participants varies - from 60 to 150 people with different roles. Each group starts from its neighborhood. The procession makes its way to the central square where the mummers perform their program and then they mix with the crowd on the square.

Men’s horo dance in the town of Kalofer
Yordanov day (Saint Jordan’s Day) is celebrated in many places in Bulgaria, but hardly anywhere else the power of tradition is felt so strongly. The throwing and catching of a cross in the river is followed by men in costumes diving in its waters under the accompanying music of bagpipe. In the icy waters of the river Tundja reels a horo dance with all men joining it.

Mummers from all over the country and abroad will gather in Simitli for a masquerade and will make the town ring with their chime bells.

5th International Mummer’s Carnival "Starchevata"
In 2013 in Razlog for the first time there will be an International Mummers’ Carnival, too. The small town in the Blagoevgrad Region, which is a member of the Federation of European Carnival Cities, has been repeatedly honored with awards for well kept mummer traditions.

International Festival of Masquerade Games "Surva"
"Surva" is the biggest and most significant event of traditional folk dances, games and rituals with masks in Bulgaria and on the Balkans. The festival is organized by the Pernik Municipality. Since 1985 it has had the statute of an international event. About 5000 people from over 90 masquerade groups from all ethnographic regions of Bulgaria and guest from Europe, Asia and Africa take part in it. www.surva.org
 
Asenovgrad
Wine festival and folk wrestling - 01.02.2013
This is one of the biggest holidays in Asenovgrad, which is connected with the vine and wine sector. This day marks the beginning of the spring vineyard activities. Most of the people on this day gather in the St. Trifon chapel.  There they can watch the so called Pehlivan wrestling under the beating of the drums. The award for the winner is a ram with gold plated horns.

A cross of fire jars of honey for St. Haralampiy (St. Haralambos)
Thousands of jars with honey and burning candles are arranged in the form of the Holy Cross in honor of St. Haralampiy. The ritual is unique and takes place only in the Blagoevgrad Church Vavedenie Bogorodichno (The Blessed Virgin). There is a belief that the fiery honey cross brings health and good crop to the beekeepers. They say that the blessed honey has healing and magical powers.
 
Trifon Zarezan - 14.02.2013
The Day of St. Trifon Zarezan (St. Trifon the Pruner) is linked to local livelihoods - the cultivation of grapes and the production of fine wine, brandy (Rakia) and cognac. It is celebrated almost all over the country, including at the “Wine Festival” in the town of Veliki Preslav and the competitions for the best wine-, brandy or appetizers manufacturer, with wine tastings in the town of Hisarya, etc.

The Masquerade Festival "Kukerlandia" will be opened on the 26th of February 2013 and will continue till the beginning of March with a number of events. The competitive parade with the participation of Bulgarian and foreign groups will be held on the 2nd of March in the square space in front of the Yambol Municipality.
