Spirit of Burgas MTV Festival

Every August since 2008 the town of Burgas has hosted the SPIRIT of Burgas International Festival. Scores of bands and music performers gather to play on several stages on the Central Beach of Burgas.
The festival attracts music fans from all around the world thanks to the variety of music styles it offers: hardcore, rock, ethno music, reggae and ska, punk, jazz and blues, techno, and many more. Every year world famous musicians take part in the festival.
A festival town with many attractions and bars is set up during the music event. It stretches over an area of 6000 sq m. A campsite is also available for the fans.
In just four years of existence Spirit of Burgas has already been nominated on several occasions and has won several awards. In 2008 the festival made it to the top 15 festivals in the Best European Festival category of the Yourope Festival Awards. In 2009 it was nominated in the final stage of the top 10 festivals in the Best Overseas Festival category of the UK Festival Awards. That same year it was described as one of the top 20 festival destinations by the Times. Yet again in 2009 the festival was nominated in the final stage of the top 10 festivals in the Best Overseas Festival category of the UK Festival Awards, and in 2010 it was nominated in the Best Medium Sized Festival category of the first European Festival Awards.
Bands such as The Prodigy, Gorillaz Sound System (DVJ), and Kosheen have all performed at the Spirit of Burgas Festival.
The music festival is supported by Burgas Municipality.
Spirit of Burgas will take place for the fourth time in the period 12 - 14 August, 2011. Foreign and Bulgarian musicians and DJs will perform on the five stages of the festival.
