Elderly tourists from the Alpine country that were on holiday in the biggest Bulgarian Black Sea resort donated BGN 70 thousand to the Music School in the town of Kotel.
Sunny Beach is the most successful destination chosen for a holiday in the history of the Union of Austrian pensioners. This is the assessment of the President of the Union Karl Blecha. The Austrian organization for the elderly and its tour operator company "Senior Reisen" have been organizing spring and autumn vacations for its members for 40 years. For the first time the expectations of such highly demanding tourists, as the Austrian pensioners, have been exceeded to such an extent.
In April and May of this year a total of 7,000 Austrian pensioners visited Sunny Beach and only from their accommodation the revenues for the resort complex were EUR 1.5 million. The Austrian tourists were fascinated with their stay in Bulgaria.
Best managed organization, exceptional service in hotels and restaurants, high professional guide services, amazing emotional experiences at concerts and other cultural events – this is how Karl Blecha summarizes the impressions of the tourists.
For the elderly Austrians one of the most exciting experiences was a visit to the National School of Folk Arts "Philip Koutev" in Kotel, where they enjoyed a 35-minute concert of its talented students. On their own initiative the tourists organized a charity campaign to raise money for the music school. They managed to collect BGN 70 thousand.
The grant will be used for repairs of part of the accommodation facilities for the students this summer. The sponsors hope that next year the charity campaign will be continued when further 7000 elderly Austrian tourists will spend their vacation in Sunny Beach under contract and then the Music School in Kotel would finally be completely renovated.
