Rock Fest, Mussel and Fish Fest, Festival of Fireworks… And all this just a few kilometers away from the border between Romania and Bulgaria, in Kavarna - a small sea town, which for the last 10 years has become one of the biggest rock destinations on the Balkans and a place for festivals and golf tourism, a place where one can experience unforgettable moments by and in the sea. Kavarna is just one of the numerous examples of the rapid development of services along the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast where hundreds of new hotels have been built for the last 15 years and the facilities of the popular sea resorts, such as Golden Sands, Albena, Sunny Beach, Elenite have been entirely renovated. New vacation villages have appeared on the map. The new infrastructure and various attractions like aqua parks, yacht ports and facilities for water sports are just some of the recreation options which charge people with energy and positive emotions.
The combination of long golden beaches, the warm water of the sea and the very good price-quality ratio of the services provided have helped Bulgaria to rank among the top ten favorite beach destinations in Europe. In the ranking of the best beaches on the Old Continent, the Golden Sands resort is right after the Greek Myrtos Beach on the island of Kefalonia and is a frequent Award winner for best beach in the world.
Upon the recommendation of Rough Guides - a British leading publisher of travel and reference guides with a 130-year old history - Varna has entered the top ten destinations for summer holidays in 2014. Rough Guides ranks Bulgaria among the top ten countries recommended to visit where people can spend the best vacation possible this summer. “Enjoy the white sand and a drink in one of the improvised beach bars spread along the entire coast” is the advice of the travel guide.
On the Northern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast the Vacation Club "Riviera" opened the season in April with entirely renovated rooms, high speed internet and a new menu in the restaurants. April marks the beginning of the wedding season in this popular among the foreign tourists resort. Lots of young couples from neighboring Romania choose to say "yes" to each other there.
Very popular not only among our northern neighbors, but among tourists from other European countries is the vacation destination Albena which celebrates its 45th anniversary this year. Almost 7 and a half million tourists have already enjoyed the splendid nature and the endless beach of this resort. In 2014 there will be further surprises for the guests – an aqua park with 600 m slides, two new beach libraries, themed culinary weeks and some more renovated hotels.
The Sothern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, in its turn, will expect 45 cruise liners to drop anchor in the ports of Bourgas and Nesebar. A growing number of international cruise companies show interest to include the water area of the Bourgas bay in their routes. This region is easily accessible by air and by car. A visit there is worth the effort because everyone can find something meeting his or her interests: cultural tourism in Nessebar and Sozopol, SPA and balneo treatment procedures in Pomorie, splendid beaches around Sozopol, Primorsko and Sinemorets. And last, but not least, to live a life full of variety in one of the most popular among young people European party resorts – Sunny Beach.
