TRADITIONAL CULINARY AND FOLKLORE FESTIVAL
WITH THE COOPERATIVE OF BANSKO TAVERN OWNERS AND TOURIST BUSINESS UNION – BANSKO
For the fifth year, we, the members of the COOPERATIVE OF BANSKO TAVERN OWNERS “UNIQUE BANSKO” and “TOURIST BUSINESS UNION – BANSKO” ASSOCIATION are pleased to invite you to our traditional outdoor CULINARY FESTIVAL, which will start at 17:00 on 02.09.2023 /Saturday/ and will go on until 10:30 on 03.09.2023 /Sunday/ at the central Nikola Vaptsarov Square in Bansko.
This is an attractive event for the guests of the town, which establishes Bansko as a culinary destination. It is part of the diverse cultural program of the Municipality of Bansko. During the two days of the Festival, you will have the opportunity to learn interesting facts about the old recipes used in Bansko cuisine from past to present times. Every year, as organizers, we try to further develop and add new and interesting events to the Festival program. Besides the traditional bazaar exhibition of local dishes and specialties, this year we have included fun old-time games and an art workshop for children.
After last year’s interest in the re-enactment of the “Old Bansko Wedding” ritual performed in an original form by individual and folk groups from Bansko, this year we plan a re-enactment of three post-wedding rituals, which have been passed down through many generations in Bansko. The folklore show will take place at Nikola Vaptsarov Square, in the area between the Municipality building, the Community Center, Nikola Vaptsarov monument, Nikola Vaptsarov House-Museum and the streets connecting them. The Festival will also feature a live demonstration of making wrought iron and handmade souvenirs by local craftsmen and artisans. At the same time, on Sunday (market day in the town of Bansko) you will enjoy an authentic revue of folk costumes from Bansko worn on various occasions.
To make the Festival even more exciting and original, we invite you all on Sunday wearing an outfit or a costume element from the old chest. A special photo booth will be available to capture your smile!
