Merichleri

The balneology resorts in Bulgaria have long term history. The Thracians, who inhabited the Bulgarian lands, idolized the spring waters. The cultural activities were born based on Thracian medicine, established as natural medicine. The ancient Greeks also widely used the Bulgarian mineral waters and worshipped them, which is evident from the coins found here. Swimming pools are built near the mineral springs, and balneology is practiced.
The hydrological mineral spring is located near the town of Merichleri, in the central lowland part of Southern Bulgaria, 60 km east of the city of Plovdiv, near Maritsa river, on 150 m altitude.
The mineral water is mainly characterized as hyper-thermal, moderately mineralized, and it is used for the treatment of diseases of the digestive system, diseases related to irregular metabolism and poisoning of the organism with heavy metals.
The water temperature is 32-42 degrees.
