The Rusalka (The Mermaid) is a resort complex of 600 villas roughly 80 km northeast of Varna. The resort is in the immediate vicinity of pristine natural surroundings of two protected areas, The Tauk Liman (Tauk Firth) Reserve and The Ptichiya Zaliv (Bird Bay) Reserve that is home to rare bird species. Also very close to the resort is the Yaylata Archeological Reserve. At neighboring Point Kaliakra are the remains of an ancient fortress, which is also a favorite destination for bird watchers.
Scenic little inlets make the beaches of Rusalka that much more inviting. The complex has a number of tennis courts, volleyball courts, football pitches, and excellent conditions for other sports. The resort also offers horseback riding, and there are snorkeling and scuba diving off the seaside cliffs.
The resort complex is a preferred destination for families with children looking for a fun-filled vacation, and it is also a restful seaside retreat.
