History comes alive in the medieval fortress “Baba Vida”, that is also the slogan of the event that Vidin Municipality organizes every last weekend of August. The idea is to recall historical facts from the Middle Ages related to the region and to present them through appropriate reenactments that create a pleasant experience, to arouse curiosity, but also interest in our distant past.
The program includes military duels, ruler’s embassies, capture of a fortress, palace intrigues, etc. A plot is prepared for each edition of the festival, which is thematically related to the medieval history of the Vidin region. The climax of the event is the evening spectacle and fire show: duels, winners and losers, burning torches and fire dances.
Children’s animation is part of the program, various role-playing games and lots of fun are being prepared for little fans. That year, the Municipality of Vidin will prepare the eleventh edition of the “Budina” medieval festival on 26th and 27th August.
