International Festival of Brass Orchestras – Town of Veliko Tarnovo
The International Festival of Brass Orchestras is held every year on the eve of 22 September – the Independence day of Bulgaria, and lasts for 4 or 5 days. It is a part of the cultural program of the Veliko Tarnovo municipality. The festival is the first of its kind in Bulgaria.
The organizer of the event is the Foundation International Festival of Military Orchestras, aimed at the development and promotion of military music. Co-organizers of the festival are Veliko Tarnovo Municipality and the National Military University “Vasil Levski”, the town of Veliko Tarnovo.
The festival was held for the first time in Veliko Tarnovo in 2006. 4 Bulgarian and 4 foreign orchestras took part in it – representative military brass orchestras from Belgium, France, Ukraine, and Bulgaria. Concerts were presented to the students of Emilian Stanev school, Veliko Tarnovo, cadets and soldiers of the National Military University “Vasil Levski”, as well as unforgettable evening shows, presented by all orchestras in the Palace of Culture and Sports – Vasil Levski, the town of Veliko Tarnovo.

The 6th International Festival of Brass Orchestras will be held in Veliko Tarnovo in September 2011.
The number of participants in the orchestras should be up to 40 people.
